BDO South Africa's Business Services & Outsourcing (BSO) team provides outsourced payroll and human resources services for organisations operating in South Africa and internationally. The service is aimed at businesses that would otherwise carry the cost and compliance risk of running payroll in house, from small companies taking on their first employees to national and global organisations outsourcing their South African payroll or HR functions.

The fully managed payroll service is run as an end-to-end offering on cloud software by a team of payroll specialists, with processes aligned to local legislation. Work covered includes personal information and records at SARS and the Department of Labour, local and expatriate salaries, compulsory deductions such as UIF and WCA, processing and on-time payment of salaries, income and payroll tax deductions, IRP5s and payslips, tax remittances, forms and declarations, leave management, and billings, timesheets and expenses. Clients also have access to specialists across tax, pensions, accounting and compliance, and the payroll technology can be integrated with accounting systems.

Alongside payroll administration, BDO offers people advisory and HR outsourcing services spanning the employee lifecycle, including attracting and managing talent, employee development, contractual matters, performance monitoring and labour, disciplinary and procedural legal matters.
