ASCONFIN – Asesorías Contables y Financieras

ASCONFIN – Asesorías Contables y Financieras is a Costa Rican accounting and financial advisory firm that manages the full payroll cycle for companies in Costa Rica, from salary calculation through reporting to the CCSS and Hacienda.

Its payroll work covers calculation of gross salaries, deductions, overtime, commissions and other salary components; monthly calculation and filing of employer and employee contributions with the Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social and the Instituto Nacional de Seguros for labor risk insurance; detailed pay stubs for each employee; aguinaldo calculated on the December–November period; labor settlements covering notice, severance and vacation under the Labor Code; and preparation and filing of withholding forms 138 and 208.

The monthly cycle begins with the client sending period updates such as overtime, absences, commissions and bonuses. ASCONFIN processes and reviews the payroll within two to three business days, sends the details for approval and then issues individual pay stubs before payday. Payroll is filed with the CCSS and INS by the fourth business day of the month, with withholdings filed with Hacienda within the statutory deadlines.

The firm works with payrolls ranging from a single employee to more than fifty, recommends its Corporate Plan for payrolls above five employees, and also helps employers who have unregistered staff regularise their situation with the CCSS.
