Nature and Animal Park Goldau – Digitalisation in service of nature

Nature and Animal Park Goldau is a scientifically managed animal park that is home to around 100 native and European animal species. The park is self-financed without state subsidies and takes pride in its independence. Its operating business is generated through year-round operations, with main revenue coming from admission and subscription sales, food and beverage services, and the park's own shop. For the construction or expansion of animal facilities, the organisation relies on support in the form of restricted donations. An important step towards the future came in 2014 with the opening of the park's own restaurant "Grüne Gans" with 400 indoor and outdoor seats. This required a till system that could integrate with administrative processes. This in turn led to a re-evaluation of business software and the replacement of the previous standalone solutions.

The cornerstone of process digitalisation today is the TCPOS till system, fully integrated into Proffix. More than 5,000 items are now recorded in it, accessible from every till and managed in the background by Proffix. In total, the animal park operates ten till systems – in the entrance area, food and beverage services and the shop – with interfaces programmed to display the items relevant to each area. Daily takings are recorded completely automatically. All sales recorded in the till system each day are transferred at 4 a.m. to Proffix's order processing. Each transaction automatically triggers an order or invoice, which is then posted directly to Proffix's accounts receivable. Integration of the till system with Proffix's inventory and stock management means that all shop items and souvenirs are managed and automatically deducted with each till transaction. A voucher and ticket system linked to Proffix and the till system opens up additional possibilities for product offerings. With the ERP system, Nature and Animal Park Goldau has also reorganised its donations and subscription management. Greater professionalism: Fully digitalised processes allow the Zewo-certified organisation to manage donations in an advanced and successful manner. Strong investment protection: Thanks to Proffix's high integration capability, further ERP processes can be implemented by connecting third-party solutions. Throughout the receivables area, all types of invoices (standard, donations, subscriptions) have been switched to QR invoicing. Since migrating to Proffix's Swissdec-certified payroll system, payroll accounting is handled in-house and is largely automated thanks to ELM (Electronic Wage Notification Procedure).
