A very large, global organisation wanted to come up with some very new and exciting policies for its employees for more agile, flexible working in a very complicated immigration landscape. Employers were challenged because they now had a future workforce that was wanting some agility and flexibility and a lot of people wanted to work from home or perhaps they'd like to work in another country as a digital nomad. The organisation needed to navigate digital nomad schemes and assess the immigration implications for employees working from different countries.

Fragomen looked very closely at the digital nomad schemes that are in existence and have proliferated during the pandemic. They made an assessment for the client on what sort of schemes their employees could easily take up if they wanted to work from another country and they wanted a complete change of scene for their family. They gave an assessment of these global schemes saying which one would fit in best from a work perspective, so what schemes would allow the employer to have their employees working under those schemes, but also the flexibility of them being able to work for that employer. They made a very detailed assessment of those employees that had immigration status in one country or the other, and the impact on that immigration status if they were moving to a different city or even to a different country. They collated all of that information together and worked very closely with the client's other vendors to ensure a holistic solution aligned with tax and employment situations.

The client was able to implement a really state-of-the-art mobility policy for its employees looking at the post-pandemic situation. The solution provided a comprehensive approach to flexible working arrangements whilst maintaining immigration compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
