Challenge
Roque Eduardo had a long-held dream of starting a business, but faced a lack of planning and structure necessary to turn that idea into reality. In early 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, he approached Seteco because he wanted to open a business. The challenge was to structure a viable business model during a period of extreme economic uncertainty, with restrictions on in-person operations and a need for rapid adaptation. Roque and his family needed to define the appropriate business structure, conduct market research, choose a name for the business, and structure a financial plan that would work in a pandemic scenario.
We almost gave up. But despite the uncertainties we started with delivery and found in daily challenges the opportunities that were genuine learning. — Roque Eduardo, Owner of Vila Rostock
Solution
Seteco held a comprehensive and detailed conversation with Roque Eduardo to understand his dream and needs. The Seteco team aligned a business model that was favourable to the family's long-held dream: a German restaurant. Considering the pandemic context, Seteco helped structure the business to begin with a delivery system, allowing the restaurant to start operations without the need for a physical in-person space. The consultation included tax planning, business structuring, and guidance on how to operate efficiently during the crisis.
Results
Vila Rostock was successfully opened during the Covid-19 pandemic, starting operations through delivery only. The business model structured by Seteco worked so well that the restaurant was able to establish itself and expand. Roque Eduardo reports that despite initial uncertainties, they found in daily challenges the opportunities that became genuine learning. The business thrived to the point that Roque and his family are now thinking about expanding the team and bringing German flavours to more customers. The restaurant became an example of entrepreneurial success during the pandemic, demonstrating the effectiveness of Seteco's consulting in structuring viable business models even in challenging circumstances.
