Bolto

Bolto is a global employment platform that offers Employer of Record (EOR) services, allowing companies to hire staff in Brazil and other countries without registering a local entity. Bolto acts as the legal employer, issuing compliant employment contracts and handling payroll, taxes and monthly filings on the client's behalf.

In Brazil, Bolto's service is built around the requirements of the CLT labour code, including registered permanent or fixed-term contracts, overtime rules beyond 44 hours per week, the 13th-month salary paid in two instalments, the one-third vacation bonus, FGTS contributions and social security. Contracts and payslips are handled in Portuguese, as local rules require, and Bolto guides clients through salary structuring and employee onboarding.

The company also publishes guidance comparing EOR arrangements with setting up a legal entity and with PEO models, to help companies decide which approach fits their plans. Its Brazil service is aimed at international employers hiring in sectors such as software development, cloud and cybersecurity, data, engineering, finance and fintech, as well as project management, supply chain and commercial roles.
