PAMI (Instituto Nacional de Servicios Sociales para Jubilados y Pensionados)

PAMI (Instituto Nacional de Servicios Sociales para Jubilados y Pensionados) is the Argentine national institute that provides health and social services to retirees and pensioners. Members receive medical care through the PAMI membership credential and the cartilla médica, a directory of contracted doctors, clinics and medical centres, as well as coverage for prescription medications.

Alongside contracted providers, PAMI runs its own hospitals as part of its integrated care network, and organises vaccination campaigns such as the seasonal flu programme. It also covers items including incontinence and hygiene supplies for members who qualify.

Administrative services are handled online and in person: the Mi PAMI portal and the website allow members to start and track applications, request appointments at PAMI agencies, register as new members and file claims. The institute also offers social and preventive activities, including UPAMI courses, socio-preventive workshops, the Buen Vivir programme and the Bienestar PAMI wellbeing initiative, and maintains a separate channel for contracted providers and suppliers.
