Österreichische Gesundheitskasse (ÖGK)

Österreichische Gesundheitskasse (ÖGK) is Austria's statutory health insurance institution, established in 2019 to administer health coverage for insured people and their family members across the country. As a public social insurance body, it manages insurance membership, entitlements and benefit claims.

Its benefits and services cover medical treatment, prescriptions and medication, dental care, rehabilitation, mother-and-child health programmes and preventive care. ÖGK also publishes health information for the public on topics such as obesity and coping with summer heat.

Services are delivered through customer service centres in the Austrian regions and through digital channels, including the Meine ÖGK app and online portal for managing insurance data and administrative matters. Separate web portals address the needs of insured persons, employers and contracted healthcare providers.
