EMD is a Malta-based professional services firm whose advisory arm, EMD Advisory Services Limited, provides outsourced payroll services to employers. The firm takes on payroll administration so that businesses can concentrate on their core activities while remaining compliant with Maltese employment, tax and social security rules.

Its payroll work covers registration with Jobsplus and the Tax and Social Security Departments, calculation and deduction of income tax and social security contributions, monthly and annual submissions of FS5s, FS7s and FS3s, preparation and submission of employee tax returns, distribution of payslips, and payment of salaries and FS5s.

EMD also assists with maternity leave applications, work permit and residence card applications and representation with the authorities on those applications, drafts employment contracts, represents clients before the tax authorities and advises on payroll-related issues.
