Challenge
Albert Heijn Kleijnen, with two busy locations and approximately two hundred employees in total, wanted to be an organisation that works. For owner Maurice Kleijnen, the foundation of success lies in creating a place where people enjoy working. With many part-time staff and continuous turnover, the goal was to keep employees engaged. The company wanted to set up all HR, payroll and scheduling processes digitally and align them with one another, create connection in a dynamic organisation, and provide control and clarity.
Customers have become more discerning and expect more than ever. Good is not good enough. You simply have to get it right, every single day. — Frans Vandermeulen, store manager at AH Kleijnen
Solution
Albert Heijn Kleijnen implemented Nmbrs for HR and payroll administration. The first step towards digitalisation began with scheduling via PMT Online, and soon the need arose to better organise HR and payroll as well. With Nmbrs, Frans (store manager) always has an overview. He logs in daily and sees exactly what needs to happen: from probation review meetings and contract extensions to onboarding steps and mandatory e-learnings. Managers are closely involved in hiring new employees and conduct interviews with candidates.
Results
By using Nmbrs, Frans can always maintain an overview and see exactly what needs to happen. The focus on people that characterises AH Kleijnen requires an organisation that functions properly. With Nmbrs, it simply works very well. Employees under 16 years old are not only invited themselves, but also bring their parents along during onboarding, which creates a different dynamic. This provides a clearer picture of what is expected and really makes a difference in attitude and engagement.
