Interview with Vince Schwidder from Yummygum

Yummygum, founded in 2009 by Leon Ephraïm and Vince Schwidder, grew from a merger of 2 sole proprietorships into a team of 15 employees. In the early stages with 3 to 4 employees, there was not much administration and much could be done manually. However, as the company grew to around 8 employees, it became clear that manual payroll administration was not scalable.

The company attempted to use their accountant for additional payroll tasks, but this did not work well. They wanted to automate more, generate reports more easily, and most importantly, spend less time on payroll administration tasks.

In 2019, Yummygum started using Employes. The platform offered an intuitive interface with an intentionally limited feature set. Unlike many tools that aim to be all-in-one, Employes focused on being best-in-class where it matters. Employes' expertise in the Dutch market was also an important factor.
