Biopsin is a biosensor development company incorporated in Singapore in October 2018. The company is developing a biosensor device for rapid and accurate detection of pathogens in F&B and FMCG products.

The conventional testing method takes 5-10 days to get results, forcing companies to send out products before receiving test results to avoid products from expiring. This creates significant risk – microbially contaminated products can be consumed, leading to consumer illness and potential disease outbreaks. When this happens, products must be recalled and disposed, causing significant damage to brand reputation.

As scientist-entrepreneurs, co-founders Sheetal Sinha and her co-founder faced the challenge of managing regulatory requirements and incorporation processes while trying to focus on product development.
