Digital transformation gave Paus better control over finances

Paus is a café in central Vännäs that for nearly 30 years has been an obvious meeting place for both locals and visitors. A few years ago, the company underwent a generational handover and Nina Jonsson, together with her daughters Ronja and Saga, took over the business. At the same time, the café changed its name to Paus. Nina wanted greater insight into the company's finances, better control over the figures, to digitalise the budgeting process and to receive support on how the business could develop with increased profitability.

The generational handover was led by Cloud Redovisning. Because Nina found the process both smooth and quick, she chose to continue the collaboration and also engaged them for additional services regarding the company's ongoing finances. Accounting consultant Angelica Vesterlund began the assignment by connecting the company's bank and till system to Fortnox to create more efficient financial management. Angelica then simplified the work of managing supplier and customer invoices by gathering everything in clearer summaries. A large part of the effort involved setting up clear routines and efficient workflows that gave Nina better oversight and more accessible financial management.

The shift to a digital routine went well and Nina quickly received help from Cloud Redovisning when needed. The biggest difference today is that everything is faster and more accurate. Payments that previously could end up recorded a month incorrectly are now booked in the correct period, which has made it easier to follow up and compare results month by month. The start-up period has involved both more work and increased costs, but Nina sees it as an investment in the company. Once all routines are in place, she hopes the new structure will give her a clearer picture of where there are opportunities to save and become more efficient.
