Challenge
IF Solutions, which has been placing IT and financial professionals for over twenty years with government agencies, media companies like NRC, de Volkskrant and Talpa, and banks like Rabobank, ING and ABN AMRO, was seeing a clear trend toward permanent placement constructions within the banking sector. However, there was a lot involved when wanting to employ someone from outside the EU in the Netherlands as an intermediary.
To allow a highly skilled migrant to work in the Netherlands, you must first be a recognized sponsor of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) as an employer. IF Solutions was not a recognized sponsor, which created a significant barrier to their ability to place international IT professionals. The company needed to navigate complex procedures including applying to the municipality and IND for residence and work permits, drafting contracts, and managing various compliance requirements.

Solution
IF Solutions engaged All About Expats to provide the necessary support for placing highly skilled migrants. All About Expats, being a recognized sponsor of the IND, could handle all the complex immigration and employment procedures.
In practice, the collaboration worked as follows: IF Solutions handled everything on the candidate side - presentation to the client, intakes, relocation, housing arrangements, etc. All About Expats took care of everything related to IND regulations, work permits, residence permits, contracts, salary administration, and other compliance matters.
All About Expats provided expert guidance on IND guidelines and advised on the best options both contractually and financially for IF Solutions and their candidates. When regulations changed, All About Expats proactively advised on the best approaches for both the intermediary and the candidates.
This partnership allowed IF Solutions to expand their services to include international talent placement without having to develop internal expertise in Dutch immigration law and procedures.
Results
The collaboration proved so successful that IF Solutions expanded their partnership with All About Expats over time. Previously, IF Solutions had worked with multiple back-office service providers, but ultimately chose to work exclusively with All About Expats.
The partnership enabled IF Solutions to successfully place IT professionals from outside the EU with their banking clients, opening up new business opportunities and revenue streams. The arrangement allowed IF Solutions to focus on their core competency of recruitment and client relationships while All About Expats handled all the complex administrative and legal requirements.
IF Solutions was able to offer a complete service to their clients without having to invest in developing internal immigration expertise or becoming a recognized sponsor themselves.
