Challenge
Olympus IQ initially requested PortuGer to found a Portuguese LDA (limited liability company) to start hiring in Portugal. The company was looking to establish a local entity to begin their hiring process in the Portuguese market.
PortuGer challenged our plan and saved us from an unnecessary incorporation. They could've earned more by saying yes, but instead, they did what was right for our business. - Eren Alakus, Founder & CEO, Olympus IQ
Solution
PortuGer conducted a comprehensive cross-check across jurisdictions and operations, including analysis of the U.S. LLC structure, international tax implications, vesting & equity agreements, CAE classification, banking & hiring flow requirements. They reviewed the situation with their legal team to determine the best approach. Rather than simply proceeding with the incorporation request, PortuGer took the time to understand the client's full operational structure and needs.
Results
PortuGer determined that an LDA at this stage wasn't needed and would actually add cost, complexity, and delay to Olympus IQ's operations. As a result, Olympus IQ was able to align their hiring with their existing U.S. structure, avoided unnecessary spend and legal friction. The client was able to proceed more efficiently without the burden of an unnecessary corporate entity.
